Some of our latest restaurant visits in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge include Thai, Italian, American, and BBQ establishments.

Sevierville – Thai Basil & Ristorante Della Santina

Thai Basil Restaurant in Sevierville

First up is one of my favorites for Thai food, and I think one of the best in the area! Thai Basil is located at 530 Winfield Dunn Parkway, Sevierville. This is a small strip mall hat also has an Aldi’s, and is near the Lowes home improvement store. I was here for lunch on this visit, and went for the masaman curry, with chicken, and a cup of Tom Kha soup for a starter. The staff are friendly and efficient. We have carry-out menus available at the Inn.

Next up is a favorite of my wife, Ristorante della Santina. Located at 2004 Red Bank Road, Sevierville, just a mile or so off of Hwy 411. From their web site:

Only the finest ingredients. Organic whenever possible. Seafood flown in fresh daily. The DellaSantina Family has been providing excellent food and service since 1420 in Verona, Italy

I opted for a Caprese appetizer, followed by a Caesar salad and then the Gnocchi with porcini mushrooms. Despite being peak tomato season, I think the ones in the Caprese were lacking a bit. While very good, there was a bit too much dressing on the salad. I’ve never ordered dressing on the side but might try next time. Deb chose the mussels over fettuccini, with the white sauce, and then cannelloni for dessert. An Italian flat bread, warm from the oven, is served following seating.

Blue Moose Burgers and Wings, and Gigi’s Cupcakes – Pigeon Forge

A long time coming but Deb and I finally made it to Blue Moose Burgers and Wings. Many friends have commented on how good the burgers are, and after our visit I would agree. With eleven different burgers on the menu, plus ten kinds of sandwiches, there is a variety to choose from. They also have a blue velvet cake on the dessert menu. Since I am not a fan of red velvet cake, I am sure I would not be too fond of a blue version!

I had the cajun burger with street corn cup, and Deb chose wings with a side of macaroni & cheese. We were well satisfied with our choices!

For dessert we stopped at Gigi’s Cupcakes, just a couple of doors down from Blue Moose.

Trotters BBQ in Sevierville

Back in Sevierville you will find Trotters BBQ, a new establishment from the folks behind another favorite of ours, The Appalachian Grill. We went with friends on a recent Thursday evening.

In the photos above are a pulled pork sandwich with thick cut chips, rib platter with cole slaw and smoked potato salad, a sampler platter with ribs and smoked sausage, with cole slaw and thick cut chips. The pickles were excellent! All agreed the thick cut chips were good although I was threatened with bodily harm if I took another from my wife’s plate! We all enjoyed our entrees and I look forward to a return visit. One other note, the beer taps are self serve. One get a bracelet with a chip that records the number of beers dispensed. I forgot to take a photo but there were at least twenty different taps.

We will continue to cover our latest restaurant visits in order to provide guests at The Sidecar Inn with solid recommendations for lunch and dinner.
