Category: Breakfast
Breakfast at The Sidecar Inn draws from a wide variety of cuisines, but is firmly rooted in Southern and Appalachian dishes. Wherever possible fresh and local ingredients are used. Some items, such as biscuits with sausage gravy, are traditional fare. A surprise favorite has been cheddar cheese popovers, stuffed with herb and cheddar scrambled eggs. Starters often include various in season fruits, served with nuts and sometimes with yogurt. A Persian yogurt, made with diced cucumber, golden raisins, and toasted walnuts has went over well. Another favorite has been a yeasted waffle recipe that proofs overnight in the refrigerator. The resulting waffle is crisp on the outside with a fluffy interior.
